Mystery of Piri Reis Map That Contain Strange Creature

map of piri reis

In 1929 a group of historians at the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, discovered an old map. They found an amazing map segment printed on the skin of an old Gazelle dated 1513. The chart seemed to depict a portion of the Atlantic Ocean and included America and Antarctica in great detail. The mysterious object was only made a few years after the discovery of Columbus, and three centuries before Antarctica was known. For years since its discovery, this object is still being debated about how the cartographer has assimilated his knowledge.

The Piri Reis map has dimensions measuring 90 cm x 63 cm, 86 cm x 60 cm, 90 cm x 65 cm, 85 cm x 60 cm, 87 cm x 63 cm, and 86 cm x 62 cm. This difference is largely due to a broken angle. This map is one of several map anomalies taken in the 15th century that seem to represent a better picture of the shape of the continent than it should have known at that time. Furthermore, this information seems to have been obtained some time ago.

The Piri Reis map is most interesting because of the attribution of its source of information, and the extraordinary coastline details. Discovered in 1929 at the Imperial Palace in Constantinople. It was painted on parchment and dated 919 A.H. (in the Islamic calendar), which corresponds to 1513 AD. It was signed by a Turkish Navy admiral named Piri Ibn Haji Memmed, also known as Piri Reis. According to Piri Reis, the map was compiled from 20 maps drawn in the time of Alexander the Great.

This map and others were analyzed by Charles H. Hapgood. Many Piri Reis Map fans believe the level of geographical detail and mathematical knowledge needed to make maps goes far beyond the reach of navigators of the sixteenth century or earlier. Indeed, experts in the United States Air Force in the 1960s found the map so accurate that they used it to replace the wrong information on their own map. Some people believe that the map can only be achieved with the help of aerial surveys, and suggest aliens map the planet thousands of years ago so that their results are reversed for humanity to copy.

One thing that is striking about this map is the level of detail of beaches and interiors in South America. Although the scale is somewhat different in length, the high mountain range is shown as a source of rivers flowing to the coast of South America. However, the most famous feature on the Piri Reis map (and other pre-modern maps) is the Antarctic coastline. According to Hapgood and people's opinions, this illustrates the outline of the Antarctic coast without glaciers.

Most experts believe Antarctica was ice-free about 6,000 years ago, although others believe that ice covered the continent for at least hundreds of thousands of years. Likewise, many cartographers claim the accuracy of the map portolan system's map image is more in the eye of the beholder, and many maps today include imaginary continents in the southern Atlantic. But there are still some clear details on the map.

The Falkland Islands are located at the right latitude, although it was not discovered until 1592, and the unknown Andes mountains are included in the map of America. Likewise, Greenland is shown as three separate islands, a fact only discovered this century. There are also pictures of some mythological animals around the area, and the text reads: "And in this country, there appear to be white-haired monsters, and also animals like six-horned bulls." Portuguese infidels had written it on their maps. Is it true that animals really existed? all remains a mystery.
